Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy is a knowledge record presenting clear, verified information for researchers, practitioners, and evidence-based decision-makers in Lebanon.

Last updated: 31 July 2026

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how the Mouasher website handles personal data when you browse the site, subscribe to the newsletter, or use a contact, event-registration or training-enrolment form when one is made available. It applies only to this website and not to external websites or services linked from it.

2. Who is responsible

This website is operated under the name Mouasher. Mouasher is responsible for decisions about the personal data described in this policy.

Privacy enquiries and requests may be sent to info@mouasherlb.org. You may also contact Mouasher by telephone at +961 81 670 800.

3. Information we may collect

We collect only information needed for the relevant purpose:

  • Newsletter: your email address and subscription status.
  • Contact or activity forms, when available: your name, email address, optional phone number, optional organisation, the selected activity, and the information you include in your message.
  • Technical and security information: information ordinarily recorded when a website is accessed, such as an IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, dates and times, referring pages, and security or error logs.
  • Information from embedded services: when you load an external chart, map, video, font or other embedded service, that provider may receive technical connection information.

Please do not submit health information, financial information, identity documents, passwords or other sensitive personal data through general website forms unless Mouasher specifically asks for it through an appropriate process.

4. How we use information

We use personal data only as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide the newsletter you requested and manage your subscription;
  • answer enquiries and communicate with you;
  • review and administer event-registration or training-enrolment requests;
  • operate, protect, troubleshoot and improve the website;
  • prevent spam, abuse, fraud and duplicate submissions;
  • maintain appropriate administrative records; and
  • comply with applicable legal obligations.

The website is not designed to sell personal data, conduct behavioural advertising, or make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

5. Basis for processing

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, processing is based on your consent, on steps you request before receiving a service or participating in an activity, on Mouasher’s legitimate interest in operating and protecting the website, or on a legal obligation. You may withdraw consent for future processing at any time, including by unsubscribing from the newsletter.

6. Newsletter

When you subscribe, your email address is processed through the newsletter tool configured for the website and used to send Mouasher updates and manage the subscription. You may unsubscribe through the method provided in a newsletter or by contacting Mouasher. A limited record may be retained after unsubscribing when necessary to honour the request and avoid sending further messages.

7. Contact, event and training requests

Where these forms are enabled, the information you submit is used to respond to you or administer the requested activity. Contact messages may be delivered to an institutional email account. Event and training requests may also be stored as private WordPress records available only to authorised users.

The website may use short-lived, one-way technical identifiers to reduce automated or duplicate submissions. These identifiers are not intended to identify you publicly.

8. Cookies and external services

The public website is not designed to use advertising cookies. WordPress, security features or other necessary services may use essential cookies or similar storage required for operation, security or user preferences.

The website currently may load external resources such as Google Fonts and may include charts, maps, videos or other embedded content. Those services may receive your IP address, browser information and related technical data and may apply their own privacy terms. External content should be loaded only where it serves a genuine website function.

9. Who may receive information

Personal data may be available, only as needed, to authorised Mouasher personnel and to service providers that support hosting, email, newsletters, backups, security, maintenance or embedded website functions. Information may also be disclosed where required by law, a valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety or security of Mouasher, website users or others.

Mouasher does not authorise service providers to use personal data for their own unrelated purposes.

10. Processing outside Lebanon

Some website, email, newsletter, font, security or hosting providers may process information outside Lebanon. Where this occurs, Mouasher will seek to use reputable providers and reasonable contractual, technical or organisational safeguards appropriate to the service and the information involved.

11. Retention

Personal data is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, taking account of security, record-keeping and legal requirements.

  • Newsletter information is normally kept until you unsubscribe or the newsletter service ends.
  • Event and training request records stored by the website are normally retained for no longer than 365 days, unless a longer period is reasonably necessary for an ongoing activity or legal obligation.
  • Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any related follow-up.
  • Technical and security logs are retained for limited operational and security periods determined by the relevant system or service provider.

Information may remain temporarily in restricted backups until those backups are replaced or deleted in the ordinary cycle.

12. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask Mouasher to:

  • confirm whether personal data about you is being processed;
  • provide access to that information;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • delete information that is no longer needed or was processed unlawfully;
  • restrict or object to certain processing; or
  • withdraw consent for future processing.

Send requests to info@mouasherlb.org. Mouasher may ask for enough information to verify your identity and locate the relevant records. Some requests may be limited where retention or disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect the rights of others. You may also raise a concern with the competent authority under applicable law.

13. Security

Mouasher uses reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, loss or misuse. No internet transmission, email system or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

14. Children

The website is intended for a general audience and is not designed to knowingly collect personal data from children without appropriate involvement of a parent, guardian or responsible institution. A parent or guardian who believes that a child has submitted personal data may contact Mouasher to request review or deletion.

15. External links

The website may link to external websites or services. Mouasher does not control their privacy practices. Please review the privacy information provided by the external service before submitting personal data to it.

16. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the website, its services or applicable requirements change. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Material changes should be communicated in an appropriate manner.
